Larger or Sensitive Areas
Higher pin cartridges are best suited for larger treatment areas or more delicate skin, such as the scalp, neck, décolletage, and upper or inner thighs. Because the pins are more densely distributed, the treatment is generally gentler but covers a wider area efficiently. These cartridges may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results.

How does Dr Pen work?

The needles in all Dr. Pen cartridges create tiny micro-channels in the skin. This action stimulates the regenerative processes that naturally take place in the skin every day. This process stimulates an increased production of collagen and elastin causing the skin to become firmer, for scars to gradually reduce and for wrinkles to smooth out. The Pen can be used multi-directionally so the treatments can be performed on any area of the face, neck, neckline, stomach, thighs, buttocks or scalp.

Note: Dr. Pen cartridges arrive in individually sealed, sterile pouches, sterilised with ethylene oxide gas and UV light during packaging. Secondary sterilisation with isopropyl alcohol before use is entirely optional. Some users prefer this extra step for added peace of mind, and that is completely fine.

Here are the steps to microneedling with the cartridges:

1. The cartridge comes in a sterile pack.
2. Double-cleanse (cleanse and repeat) then wipe the skin clean. Fully tie your hair back, away from your face. 
3. Check your cartridge; ensure the needles are in perfect condition (i.e., not bent) and remove any debris.
4. Insert the cartridge into the microneedling pen until it clicks into place.
5. Set your desired needle depth and speed level.
6. Work in small areas and apply Peachaboo Hyaluronic Acid serum to each area before needling. This will help to ensure that the pen does not drag or pull on the skin. The recommended pattern to move the pen for best results is vertical, horizontal, and then diagonal in both directions. Using a light pressure and without dragging, repeat this motion over each area two times.
7. Safely dispose cartridge after every use.
